Former Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla shared on twitter that “he felt like a footballer again” after returning to preseason training with Villarreal.
The 33-year-old is hoping to be fit again after missing 20 months with a right Achilles injury that required a total of 10 surgeries and a skin graft from his arm.
He scored 29 goals and made 180 appearances in his six seasons at Arsenal, but left the club in May after his contract expired and returned to his former club Villarreal.

“Happy to feel like a footballer again, there’s still a lot of work ahead,” Cazorla wrote. “With more enthusiasm than ever.”
