ENGLAND star Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to quit Chelsea this summer.

The midfielder is fed up with his lack of opportunities under Antonio Conte.

Loftus-Cheek is to make his first World Cup start when England take on Panama in their second Group G game in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday.

He will be given the nod to replace Dele Alli, who has a thigh strain and will not be risked.

The 22-year-old has impressed Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate in training and did well when he came on near the end of the game against Tunisia on Monday.

Loftus-Cheek believes forcing his way into Southgate’s side will boost his chances of finding a top club when he quits the Blues.

He admits playing every week when on loan at Crystal Palace last season made him realise he cannot stagnate at Chelsea

He said: “I want to play. I want to play as much as I can.

“And even this past season just gone I didn’t play as much as I would have liked to because of the injuries and stuff.

“So I still feel I need a proper season of playing – wherever it is.

Loftus-Cheek joined the Blues as a trainee in 2014 and rose through the ranks but has started just six Premier League games.

Starsport understands that Loftus-Cheek has made his mind up to leave Stamford Bridge even if Conte is sacked.

“Ever since I was in the Chelsea academy, I’ve had that awareness that people were saying I would be the one to break through since John Terry,” he added.

“I believed I could, but the opportunities didn’t quite come for me.”
