This could be the most bizarre transfer story of the summer so far amidst reports linking Cristiano Ronaldo away from Real Madrid in connection with the 32-year-old’s tax fraud scandal with the Spanish authorities.
Ronaldo’s reported desire to leave Madrid has sparked rumours of interest from across Europe – with some clubs already making offers, albeit lightheartedly.
Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin have offered themselves up to Ronaldo, who is said to want to leave Madrid as he is upset at an investigation into alleged tax fraud.
Hertha made the offer to Ronaldo via their Twitter page, having pulled the same trick when Zlatan Ibrahimovic left Manchester United.
Ronaldo has won two Champions League titles and two La Liga honours since joining Los Blancos in 2009 from Manchester United as well as winning the Ballon d’Or three times at the Santiago Bernabeu.
