A hardworking, box-to-box midfielder is every managers’ dream. Antonio Conte has one in PFA Player of the Year N’Golo Kanté, José Mourinho has one in the world’s most expensive player Paul Pogba. Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti now has both the Chilean warrior Arturo Vidal and ex-Olympique Lyonnais talisman Corentin Tolisso who joined the Bavarians for £35m last week
While highly-regarded in France, the midfielder is less well-known outside his own country. Here are six things you have to know about Tolisso.
6. Lyon Through and Through
Born in Tarare, just north west of Lyon, Tolisso spent his youth career with local sides Stade Amplepuisien and FC Pays de l’Arbresle before signing for the esteemed Olympique Lyonnais youth ranks as a 12-year-old.
Tolisso stayed in the academy until his first senior call up in August 2013 under former Arsenal player Rémi Garde. Tolisso scored his first goal for Lyon the following March, scoring an injury time winner to give his side a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux.
