It’s looking very likely Atletico Madrid striker Antonio Griezmann will be donning the red colours of Manchester United next season after reports linking the 26-year-old with a summer move to Old Trafford received a hefty backing on Wednesday.
Griezmann’s France teammate and United midfielder Paul Pogba has dropped the biggest hint yet that the striker is set for a move to the Theatre of Dreams after he was filmed telling reporters after the Europa League final last week to ‘watch this space’ when asked on the subject.
Also, Griezmann’s latest appearance in an Huawei advert is further indication that the Frenchman will sure be a Mancunian next season provided the Red Devils can pay Atletico his £85m asking price.
Asked for a photo by a fan in the 90-second ad for the watch makers, Griezmann receives a call from a mysterious ‘Jose’, before rejecting it to focus his attentions on the supporter.
The tongue-in-cheek move sent Twitter into a frenzy, with United followers concluding that it could be Mourinho on the other end of the phone preparing to finalise a deal and it is understood Griezmann has told authorities at the Vicente Calderón that he wants to leave this summer.
