Chelsea will be officially crowned champions of England on Sunday after the final game of the season against relegated Sunderland and the man to carry the Premier League trophy out of the Stamford Bridge tunnel is none other than Blues icon Dennis Wise.
The former Chelsea skipper Wise will walk out with the trophy ahead of the post-match festivities.
It is understood the Premier League wanted to include terminally-ill Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery in Sunday’s trophy ceremony, but the six-year-old is not well enough to make the trip down to London.
It is interesting to know Wise was club captain when current skipper John Terry broke into the first team in the late 1990s.
Terry, who will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, will lift the trophy with vice-captain Gary Cahill at Sunday’s ceremony.
