This season’s Champions League quarter-finals draw was made on Friday and it looks like the end of the road for debutants Leicester City after the Premier League champions were paired with La Liga giants and two-time finalists Atletico Madrid.

After beating Sevilla 3-2 in the last 16, Leicester must face Diego Simeone’s side with the first leg taking place in Spain on either April 11 or 12, before the tie concludes at the King Power Stadium on April 18 or 19.

The Foxes have only met Atletico twice in European club competition history – in 1961 when Atleti knocked Leicester out of the European Cup Winners’ Cup first round, winning 2-0 in Spain after drawing 1-1 in England.

The second was the 1997 UEFA Cup that saw the clubs meet again. This time Atletico won both legs, 2-1 at home and 2-0 away

Elsewhere, we will be witnessing a repeat of the 2015 final after the draw paired Barcelona and Juventus.

Here’s the full draw:

Atletico Madrid v Leicester City

Borussia Dortmund v Monaco

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid

Juventus v Barcelona.

Meanwhile, the draw puts a stop to rumours making the rounds that the controversial game that saw PSG beaten 6-1 at Camp Nou by Barcelona will be replayed.
