After 20 goals in 34 appearances for Manchester United since arriving on a free transfer in the summer from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, Swede veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has won the fans and pundits over and has become a superstar at Old Trafford.
The only qualms now is whether the 35-year-old would want to extend his contract at United with the club desperate to keep their talisman.
While the wait is on, Ibrahimovic has confirmed that the relevant clauses in his one-year deal have been triggered and United are now waiting on his personal decision before the season runs out.
“Nothing is done yet. Let’s see what happens,” Ibrahimovic said after the 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday.
“The option is already fulfilled. From my side. We’ll wait and see.”
