The English Football League [EFL] has named the referee for February 26 Cup final between Manchester United and Southampton at Wembley Stadium.

The EFL announced on Monday that West Midlands match official Andre Marriner will take charge of the game, and will be aptly assisted by Richard West and Stuart Burt, with Kevin Friend as fourth official.

Marriner was in charge of Sunderland’s shock 4-0 win at Crystal Palace at the weekend where he dished out six yellow cards during the Premier League clash.

The 46-year-old has been a Premier League official since 2004 and on FIFA’s panel since 2009. He officiated the 2013 FA Cup final where Wigan defeated Manchester City.
