Players have been accused of stealing each other’s money in the locker room at League One club Bury FC according to latest report by the Sun which claims former Arsenal star has fallen victim of theft at the Gigg Lane Stadium.
According to the newspaper, thousands of pounds have been lifted from Jermaine Pennant’s locker during a Bury training session and his team-mates as well as club security officials have been on the hunt for the rat whom they have so far identified but the suspect has refused to budge.
It is understood the players think they know who has taken the money and have challenged him directly but he’s denying it.
Pennant, who is yet to make his Bury debut, could take his bow this weekend in front of home supporters when the Shakers host Walsall.
Bury currently find themselves in the relegation zone as they bid to avoid demotion to League Two. They are currently unbeaten in their last two matches, having beaten Peterborough 5-1, followed by a 2-2 draw with Port Vale though they won six games in a row between late August and September, before failing to win any of their next 20.
