Borussia Dortmund have beaten Real Madrid in the race to sign the ‘next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’ Alexander Isak from AIK.

The 17-year-old forward has sealed an £8.8million move to the Bundesliga giants, despite interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The former AIK hitman already has two international caps to his name and bagged his first goal against Slovakia this month to become Sweden’s youngest every goalscorer.

Early on Monday morning, Dortmund announced the signing of their new No. 14 on Twitter.

The club wrote: “Borussia Dortmund sign striker Alexander Isak #welcomeisak #bvb.”

The move is now the most expensive sale in the history of Swedish football – more than the fee Ajax spent to bring Zlatan to Holland from Malmo back in 2001, at £7.5m.
