Real Madrid attacking midfielder James Rodriguez has reportedly turned down the chance to earn ten times his current salary with a transfer to Hebei Fortune.
he Colombia international has been strongly linked with Chelsea in recent times after struggling for regular first-team football at the Bernabeu, but seems content to stay where he is.
Rodriguez has long been regarded as a potential world class talent, and seems determined to prove himself with Real despite big offers from elsewhere.
After some recent marquee signings such as Oscar and Carlos Tevez, Rodriguez was the next big name lined up for a lucrative switch to the Chinese Super League.
According to AS, the 25-year-old was offered the chance to earn around £26million a year with Hebei Fortune, which would be almost ten times what he current makes in Madrid.
Players have been criticised for following the money to China, but Rodriguez has proven himself ambitious and committed to a playing career at the top level whilst still at his peak.
