Manchester United’s Ivorian defender Eric Bailly has provided am update on the latest knee injury he suffered during Wednesday night’s 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

The energetic 22-year-old centreback, who recently returned from a two-month injury lay-off to his right leg, limped out of the win at Selhurst Park this time to his left knee which is likely to keep him out of Saturday’s trip to West Brom.

However, Bailly confirmed via Twitter yesterday evening that he’s recovering well from his latest setback and could be available for United’s Boxing Day Premier League clash with Sunderland at Old Trafford.

“Happy to announce that my injury isn’t too serious. Hope to be able to help my team again soon! Thank you for the support!,” the former Villarreal man wrote on Twitter.

Bailly will be doing everything in his capacity to gain more match rhythm ahead of next month’s AFCON championship in Gabon where he will be representing Ivory Coast.
