Wolfsburg general manager Klaus Allofs has revealed in a recent interview that stories in the media linking German midfielder with Arsenal has made him unstable at Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.

Julian Draxler has failed to register a single assist or even score a goal for Wolfsburg this season in all competitions and Allofs has told German TV channel Sport1 that they may let the 23-year-old leave at the end of the season.

The report is a massive boost for Arsenal ahead of 2017 summer transfer window.

“The story doesn’t help him, or Wolfsburg. It was catastrophic for the player,” Allofs said.

“We may evaluate the situation differently, and may do things differently next time.

“Does this mean letting him leave? Potentially.”

Draxler joined Wolfsburg from rivals Schalke 04 for £25m back in 2015 and he sparkled in first season at the Volkswagen Arena, scoring nine goals in 34 appearances for the club but has somehow evaporated off the radar this term amidst constant interest from the Gunners.

Wolfsburg are currently 14th in the Germain top flight after 11 matches which has seen them pick up just 11 points from a possible 33.

Up next for Valérien Ismaël’s side is a trip to Audi Sportpark on Saturday where they face Ingolstadt in the Bundesliga.
