Former Arsenal stalwart has moved down the ladder in English football after signing for Championship side Nottingham Forest from Bundesliga club Wolfsburg as a free agent on a two-year contract worth £13,000 per week.
Maverick Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner becomes Forest’s 12th summer signing.
The 28-year-old could go straight into Philippe Montanier’s squad for the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday and the notorious forward will like to get one over his former club Arsenal when Arsene Wenger’s side visit the City Ground later this month for the EFL Cup third round clash.
Bendtner, who once claimed to be the world’s best footballer, scored 24 league goals in 108 appearances for the Gunners and has netted 29 times in 72 outings for his country Denmark.
He began his professional career at north London giants Arsenal and had loan spells at Birmingham, Sunderland and Juventus before switching to Wolfsburg in 2014 where he was released last season.
