The 24-year-old’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of next season but Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has confirmed he is ready to hand the England international a fresh contract as soon as he returns from his season-long loan at Bournemouth.
Midfielder Jack Wilshere has moved to the Vitality Stadium in search of regular football to regain his fitness and competitive edge after making just 159 appearances for the Gunners in nine years.
However, Wenger still has immense confidence in the Arsenal academy graduate regardless of his morphological anomaly hailing Wilshere as a ‘world class’ footballer and the Frenchman has vowed to extend his contract when he returns to north London.
“I hope personally he stays his whole career here,” said Wenger.
“He’s a world-class player, he doesn’t have to show me he has quality to play at Bournemouth just that is back to a competitive level.”
Wilshere is expected to make his Cherries debut against West Brom in the Premier League this weekend.
