Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger preferred paring of new signing Rob Holding alongside Laurent Koscielny coupled with the imminent arrival of Germany international Shkodran Mustafi leaves England international Calum Chamber with no choice than to leave the Emirates Stadium before the close of this summer’s transfer window in search of regular football.
It is understood Premier League’s new comers Middlesbrough are close to agreeing a season-long loan for 21-year-old Gunners defender Calum Chambers.
West Ham, Hull, Watford and Roma have also made enquiries for the England international although Arsenal are short at the back, Chambers appears to have fallen out of favour at the club.
Wenger has decided that Chambers, who signed for the Gunners for £16m two years ago needs regular game time to aid his development this campaign.
Chambers played 22 matches for Arsenal last season in all competitions scoring one goal but has only featured in the Gunners opening day 4-3 loss to Liverpool this term.
