Barcelona have confirmed the signing of 22-year-old France defender from Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year contract reportedly worth £13.8m.
Lucas Digne impressed on loan at Roma last season, has signed a five-year contract with a buy-out clause set at £50m.
Digne, who becomes the second French player signed by the Catalan club in less than 48 hours following the arrival of Samuel Umtiti from Lyon yesterday, has contributed three goals and five assists in 33 appearances during his season in the Serie A.
“FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain FC to sign the 22-year-old French player Lucas Digne for the next five seasons,” the club said on their website on Wednesday.
“Barca have paid an initial £13.8m with another four (million) possible according to individual and team results. Digne’s buy-out clause is €60m (£50m).”
Digne, who also had a spell with French club Lille, was in his country’s squad at the European Championship. He has been capped 13 times by Les Blues.
