So far in this summer transfer window Arsenal have only added £30million Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka to their squad but Gunners legendary goalkeeper David Seaman who spent 13 years at the club isn’t satisfied yet.
Seaman believes Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger must invest in three key positions if his former club are to mount a serious title challenge this season.
Arsenal cracked under pressure last season after bossing the Premier League division for weeks, eventually finishing second behind champions Leicester City.
However, Seaman believes Wenger must sign a striker, midfielder and a dominant centre-half if his side’s 12-year title drought will end in the 2016/17 campaign.
“We still need a dominant centre-half,” the 52-year-old former England goalkeeper told talkSPORT.
“We’ll see what Granit [Xhaka]’s like in midfield, but ideally we need someone like Patrick Vieira. And a striker as well.
“He needs to buy someone to give the club a lift and give the fans a lift. Ideally a striker would be great, but either a centre-half or midfielder would do for me.
“The thing is that a lot of the players who played in the Euros are not going to be ready for the start of the season, and that’s going to mean we are going to have a weakened team.”
