Dutch youngster Tahith Chong has confirmed he is joining Manchester United.
The 16-year-old revealed the news on Twitter and Instagram, writing, “Future player of Manchester United” on both accounts.
Chong, who has been in Feyenoord’s academy for the last six years, has been on United’s radar since he impressed for the Dutch club’s under-17 side at the Premier Cup held at United’s Carrington training complex last year.
The highly rated teenager, who possesses lightning pace and can play either up front or on the wing, earlier this year admitted he had a “good feeling” about United after being given a tour of the club’s training facilities.
“It was my intention to stay at Feyenoord, but no plan was made for me,” he told Dutch outlet Elf Voetbal in April. “When I said I wanted to leave, they made a plan. That was too late.
“At Manchester United I had a better feeling. You can feel it immediately when you walk in a club.”
United starlet Angel Gomes welcomed the arrival of Chong on Twitter, writing: “The man welcome #mufc”.
