Confederation of Africa Football [CAF]has fined the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] a modest fee of ₦1,000,000 following security breach at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in March.

On the 25th of the said month during the Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Egypt in Kaduna, the stadium was packed beyond its capacity with spectators seeking alternative seats where some were pictured sitting on roof tops, electric poles and pitch side as reported by yours truly Allsoccerplanet.

A retrospective review of the ugly scenario as well as the melee with ensued in the course of the game which ended 1-1, has been deemed as a breach of security protocol by CAF.

In view of this, NFF has received warning of further sanctions in case ‘similar incident occurs in future’ and has also been asked to improve the state of facilities across FIFA endorsed stadiums in Nigeria.
