Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have snatched up Manchester United’s most sought after transfer target Renato Sanches.
The Bavarian giants published an official statement on their website on Tuesday morning confirming they have signed the 18-year-old from Portuguese club SL Benfica for a reported fee of €35m.
United have been scouting Sanches all season long and watched him for more than 20 consecutive games but, out of nowhere, Bayern have swooped to take
him to Germany.
Sanches played against Bayern in their UEFA Champions League knockout game.
Benfica president was in Manchester only last week to discuss a payment schedule with the Red Devils but he’s now on his way to the Allianz Arena instead of Old Trafford.
