Borussia Dortmund ace Marco Reus who has scored 15 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga giants this season is flummoxed by the elysian attacking threat posed by Liverpool.
The 26-year-old German forward admits he chuckled when he heard the news that Dortmund had been drawn against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the Europa League semi-finals where he will face former boss Jurgen Klopp.
Reus played under Klopp for nearly three years at Dortmund after joining from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012.
“We accept the draw. We’re professional and hungry for success,” Reus told Bild.
“We chuckled when we heard the news because it was clear the old coach will return home. But we directly said that it’s not BVB versus Klopp, but rather Dortmund versus Liverpool.
“Should we wane just a few percentage points then we’ll be without a chance. They have a good team, and especially in attack they have great players.”
The first leg is in Dortmund on Thursday, April 7 with the return fixture at Anfield a week later.
