Paris Saint-Germain romped to their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with eight games to spare on Sunday evening with the 9-0 demolition of bottom-placed Troyes.
Any hope of a resistance was quickly put to rest after Edinson Cavani took advantage of Matthiu Saunier’s terrible back pass to finish at the second attempt.
The visitors’ lead was doubled just minutes later when Javier Pastore latched on to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s smart flick, negotiated a couple of challenges, and finished superbly passed Matthieu Dreyer.
The victory was sealed soon after Cavani’s effort was parried into the path of Adrien Rabiot who tucked in his second goal in as many games.
It was only a matter of time before Ibrahimovic got in on the act as the Swedish forward expertly guided two Angel Di Maria crosses into the net in quick succession.
The Swede completed a 10-minute hat-trick with another first time strike this time from Kurzawa’s pull back.
Kurzawa was the architect again as his cross was inadvertently directed into his own net by Saunier.
Troyes were reduced to 10 men after Lossemy Karaboue brought down Cavani in the box to give away a penalty. Dreyer saved the resultant spot kick but couldn’t prevent he Uruguayan smashing in the rebound.
Ibrahimovic got his fourth with a cool left footed finish after being played through by Pastore at the edge of the box.
