Burgeoning Manchester United star has been called up to his country’s Under 20 set-up after dazzling for Louis van Gaal’s first team this season.

Marcus Rashford marked his senior debut for United with a brace against FC Midtjylland to help United progress to Europa League last 16 followed by another brace against Arsenal to confine the Gunners to 3-2 defeat in the Barclays Premier League.

His four goals in six United games has not gone unnoticed as the 18-year-old Manchester-born striker has now been rewarded with a call up to Gareth Southgate’s squad even though Three Lions senior team manager Roy Hodgson raised the prospect that Rashford could be considered for a place in his squad for Euro 2016.

England go into Euro 2017 qualifier away in Switzerland, given a number of their forwards such as Sunderland’s Duncan Watmore and Norwich’s Nathan Redmond all struggling with injury.
