The Mirror on Sunday have an exclusive interview with Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez today. The Chilean is in line to make his Gunners return at the Emirates Stadium in the Super Sunday clash with Chelsea.
Sanchez last played for Arsenal in the 1-1 draw at Norwich, when he was pushed into a pit on the side of the pitch, and he has been sorely missed by the Gunners.
In the meantime, the former Barcelona man has been linked with a move from Arsenal to Chelsea in the gossip columns, should Jorge Sampaoli become the new full-time manager at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Those rumours have now been dispelled by the player himself.
Rather than seeking an Arsenal exit, Alexis has committed himself to the Gunners. He may even get a tattoo to prove it!
The 27-year-old Copa America champion has also spoken about today’s opponents Chelsea, and all their upheavals this season.
“I am very happy at Arsenal and I’m not thinking about leaving. The unity here between fans, club and players is enormous and the supporters have been fantastic. We suffer the defeats and enjoy the victories together.
This campaign we are demonstrating that we are serious candidates for the Premier League title. I think there can be no doubt about our credentials to be champions this time.
“I am very surprised by Chelsea’s results this season and by the exit of Mourinho. They are one of the biggest clubs in the league, but this year aren’t in the race for the title. But I’m sure they will beat some big teams because their pride is enormous.
Right now, I don’t know what I would do if we won the league. But maybe a tattoo!” .
