Inside sources at the Liberty Stadium have confirmed Swansea City will announce Garry Monk’s sacking on Tuesday with former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers touted to reconnect with the club he left three years ago.
It is understood Swansea Chairman Huw Jenkins met with Monk on Monday morning where he was told his services were no longer required though details of their jaw-jaw was kept discreet, an official club statement is expected before noon tomorrow.
It will be an uncharacteristic move by Swansea with Jenkins privately, if not publicly, strongly supportive of his manager throughout the slump in results which has seen the Welsh club win just one of their last 11 league matches.
But the distinct feeling within the club is that a change is inevitable.
Swansea travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to play Manchester City and Monk isn’t expected to be part of the Barclays Premier League trip.
