Chelsea have confirmed that sacking embattled manager Jose Mourinho isn’t the solution to their demise and the west London club have decided to keep the Portuguese at Stamford Bridge while they hope results get better.
The Blues are currently 16th in the Barclays Premier League table after seven defeats in 11 matches, the worst title defence in the league’s history.
Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Stoke City on Saturday in Mourinho’s absence was their third on a row in the league and it is understood club’s Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is running out of patience.
In fact, a club insider confirmed that the only thing still keeping Mourinho at Chelsea in the midst of the horrendous results is his ‘record and reputation’.
But for now, his job is safe as his players go on international break.
