AS columnist Javier Matallanas is known to bring left-field stories to the fore at AS, and this Sunday is no different.
Matallanas has made a huge claim in his weekly column:
Real Madrid will, for the second time, attempt to sign Barcelona superstar Neymar.
It is not hard to understand why Madrid would be interested in Neymar.
The Brazilian is in stunning form and has a genuine case at winning the 2015 Ballon d’Or, which is quite amazing considering that Leo Messi will surely take home that trophy in January.
According to AS on Sunday, Florentino Perez will make a second major offensive to sign Neymar, presumably next summer.
It seems unthinkable that such a transfer could happen. Certainly not in January.
Real Madrid went head to head with Barcelona to sign Neymar before he headed to Catalonia. Los Blancos reportedly pulled out due to the legal problems that have emerged ever since then surrounding the Brazilian.
The side from the Spanish capital were so close to signing Neymar, according to AS, that the former Santos attacker underwent a medical at The Bernabeu.
Florentino Perez is now plotting a new strategy to lure Neymar to Real Madrid from Barcelona.
