Former Manchester right-back Rafael da Silva has spoken passionately about his ‘biggest dream’ of playing alongside his twin brother Fabio for hometown club Botafogo when he quits Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyon.
The 25-year-old Brazilian has also ruled out a return to the EPL after quitting United in the summer following seven years at Old Trafford after signing for the Red Devils from Fluminense in 2008.
“My feelings towards Botafogo have never changed and will never change. You do not choose the club of your heart, it is he who chooses you,” Rafael told Globoesporte.
“I cannot talk about dates, but it is clear that my dream is to play in Brazil, for Botafogo,” he told Globoesporte.
“Form a duo with Fabio at Botafogo? It would be exciting to play with him one day at Botafogo.
“This will be the realisation of a childhood dream. I hope to return someday and win titles for Botafogo. This is my biggest dream.”
