Reports claim Chelsea’s major sponsors have lodged complaints to the club’s board over what they described as negative footballing philosophy by manager Jose Mourinho.

German car manufacturing company Audi, who also sponsor Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, are believed to have told the Chelsea board that the kind of football produced by Mourinho at Stamford Bridge is nauseating compared to the enchanting goal-dripping style of play that Pep Guardiola offers at the Allianz Arena.

Chelsea lost 3-1 at home to Liverpool on Saturday to further pile pressure on Mourinho whose side have now lost six Barclays Premier League matches this season while Bayern’s 10-match winning streak was ended at Eintracht Frankfurt who held the Bavarians to a goalless draw.

Mourinho spent about 15 minutes on the Stamford Bridge pitch with his coaching staff after Jurgen Klopp’s side had inflicted an embarrassing defeat on his team in an inquest into where it all went wrong.

It was mooted prior to the game that the Portuguese could be sacked if he lost but he is still clinging to his job with a thread pending club owner Roman Abramovich’s verdict.

But with the club’s major sponsors threatening to pull out, the Russian billionaire might want to act faster to send Mourinho OUT.
