Jose Mourinho has blamed Chelsea’s goalless draw in Ukraine on Tuesday night against Dynamo Kyiv on referee Damir Skomina.
Chelsea were denied a penalty in the first half in the Champions League clash after Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas was brought down by Serhiy Rybalka inside the Kyiv 18-yard box which prompted Mourinho to call the UEFA match official ‘weak and naive’.
“The referee was weak and naive. I could not understand what the goal referee (fifth official) does, and the result is 0-0 and such a penalty is not given,” Mourinho, who was recently fined £50,000 and given a one-match domestic stadium ban, told BT Sport after the Group G encounter.
“I think it’s a crucial moment in the game. One mistake cost Scotland at the rugby. Here one mistake cost Chelsea.
“A good solid performance, second clean sheet, everybody fighting for each other, everybody giving the tactical discipline the team needs.
“It’s OK…we have the destination in our own hands. It depends solely on us.”
