Memphis Depay only left PSV Eindhoven last month when he moved to Old Trafford in a £25m deal after helping them to lift the Eredivisie title but the 21-year-old Dutch winger will return to the Philips Stadium on Tuesday night when his new club Manchester United take on his former Dutch side.
It is always a tradition for players who left their former club on good terms not to celebrate a goal when they score.
But Depay, who admits he fully respects his former club PSV, has made it clear that he is now committed to United and will celebrate as he sees fit if he scores tonight in his hometown Amsterdam.
“A lot of people ask that question,” United’s No 7 Memphis said.
“It’s still a game for me, so if I score I will celebrate. I have respect for PSV but I play for Manchester United now.
“Of course, I was playing for 10 years for PSV before I came to United. It’s a special feeling for me also to see my old team-mates and play against them so it will be interesting.”
