Arsenal fans could finally get their dream wish of never want to see 47-year-old referee Mike Dean officiate their games after the imbroglio that marred their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend where two of Arsene Wenger’s men were red carded.
After that ill-fated defeat at Stamford Bridge to a below-form Chelsea side, some concerned Arsenal supporters set up an online petition agitating to the FA to stop using Dean for their Premier League matches including other domestic competitions.
The good news now is, the petition has entered 100,000 signatures worldwide.
Meaning, it can now be debated at the parliament and if the Gunners fans win, they will be excised from the wrath of Dean’s whistle for ever.
For the record, Dean sent off Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista and playmaker Santi Cazorla while officiating the London derby but became a villain when he failed to dismiss notorious Blues striker Diego Costa who was culpable for several atrocities on the pitch and culminated in instigating the ref’s decisions.
