Hertha Berlin’s team bus was attacked on Sunday evening en route Bielefeld, though, driver Stefan Behrendt was confirmed to have been unhurt.
Hertha published a photograph of the damaged bus windscreen on their website after it was reportedly shot at by a motorcyclist.
The bus was travelling to the railway station to pick up Hertha players ahead of Monday’s German Cup match against Arminia Bielefeld.
Hertha sporting director Michael Preetz said: “We are deeply shocked and hope that the perpetrators will be caught. Luckily our bus driver got away with just a fright.”
