Premier League champions Chelsea take on FA Cup holders Arsenal this Sunday in the season curtain raiser – the Community Shield.
In the build-up to the game, former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who joined Chelsea from Barcelona last summer will be facing the club where he was nurtured before seeking greener pastures.
However, Fabregas has reiterated his support for the north London club just like every other former Gunners player that he still harbours maximum ‘love and respect for Arsene Wenger’s side despite winning more trophies than the Frenchman has won in the past 18 years in about five seasons that he left the Emirates Stadium.
“Whatever it is, it is,” Fabregas said as he anticipates a hostile reception from Arsenal fans at Wembley come August 2.
“The love I have for that club will never change whatever happens and what is the most important is what I have with me from my time there.
“The rest doesn’t matter, I have great
memories, love and respect for the club. You will never hear anything bad from me about them.”
