Former Arsenal striker Andrei Arshavin has signed for Kuban Krasnodar from Zenit St Petersburg.
Arshavin who hasn’t played for the Russia national team since 2012, has been playing in the Russian Premier League since leaving the Emirates Stadium.
The 34-year-old won his third Russian title with Zenit last season but was a fringe player in the squad managed by Portuguese Andre Villas-Boas.
Arshavin departed when his contract expired at the end of the campaign.
Kuban struggled last season with a 10th-place finish in the league amid reported financial problems.
They are backed and financed by the regional government.
