Jack Wilshere might be seen as a bad boy off the pitch but on the pitch, the Arsenal midfielder has a role model whom he looks up to.
Wilshere’s inspirational figure is none other than his team-mate Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners thumped Aston Villa 4-0 on Saturday to make it back-to-back FA Cup titles, with Ozil being voted the Arsenal fans’ man of the match.
After the Cup final at Wembley, England midfielder Wilshere, heaped praise on the World Cup winning German midfield maestro while also revealing he usually look up to the former Real Madrid playmaker whom he hailed for having a ‘great second’ at the Emirates.
“Ozil has had a great season, he’s settled, and Alexis having a first season like he’s had is unheard of, so we are looking forward to next season,” Wilshere said.
“Mesut’s a player I look up to. When he’s on the pitch, surrounded by players and under pressure, he’s always got his head up and looking around.
“There’s more to come from Mesut and I’m sure he’ll improve [even more] next season.”
