Kurt Zouma has been solid like Zuma rock in the back four and sometimes the defensive midfield role for Chelsea this season, and the 20-year-old France international has spoken of his ‘dream’ of winning the prestigious individual football honour, the FIFA Ballon d’or someday.
Zouma joined the Blues in January 2014 after making 73 appearances for Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne.
And now at Stamford Bridge where he is enjoying more playing time and claims to be happy, Zouma wants to emulate his compatriot and World Cup winner Marcel Desailly whom he described as a ‘legend’.
He however admitted he still has a lot to prove on the pitch to reach such echelon.
“I think about it. It is a dream for me. I am somebody who dreams,” Zouma told Canal+.
“I am often compared with Marcel Desailly, but he, he made a great career.
“He is a football legend. He did a lot of big games. I have only just arrived on the scene and I have a lot to prove.”
