Juventus reached the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night following a convincing 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion to progresses with a 5-1 aggregate victory while Jurgen Klopp’s side crashed out.

Argentine striker Carlos Tevez scored a brace for Juve, his first was a stunner, a thunderous long range shot early in the first half, which no doubt will stand as a goal of the season contender.

He added his second for the night after the second-half resumed while also setting up Alvaro Morata for the third.

Elsewhere, Ivan Rakitic’s first-half goal was enough to beat Manchester City as Barcelona progressed to the last eight with a 3-1 aggregate win at the Nou Camp.

City missed a penalty through Sergio Aguero while England goalkeeper Joe Hart was a stand out performer for the Barclays Premier League side as he denied Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez a bevy of scorable chances.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday night, Monaco knocked Arsenal out despite the Gunners recording a 2-0 away win at the Stade Louis II as the French club progressed 3-3 on aggregate courtesy of away goal rule.

Also, Bayer Leverkusen lost to Atletico Madrid on penalties after the Spanish champions won the game 1-0, to end the tie 1-1 overall.

Quarter-final draws will be held on Friday.
