Chelsea crashed out of the Champions League after David Luiz and Thiago Silver scored two late goals to send the French Club into the quarter-finals.
PSG were down to 10 men early in the game when referee Bjorn Kuipers sent off Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his tackle on Brazilian midfielder Oscar.
Chelsea went ahead after Garry Cahill pounced on the ball after Costa could not hit the ball from a corner.
PSG tried all they could to score but was denied by Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. In the 86th minute David Luiz scored from a corner kick taken by Lavezzi.
The match was taken into extra time and Jose Mourinho’s men were lucky enough when Brazilian defender Thiago Silva touched the ball in the box, Chelsea was awarded a penalty immediately which Eden Hazard scored.
Five minutes to the end of the game Thiago Silva scored the winning goal sending Laurent Blanc’s men to the next round.
FC Bayern München have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League thanks to a 7-0 win over Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
An early penalty from Thomas Müller in the 4th minute sent Munich on their way, with defender Alexander Kutscher sent off for a professional foul.
Jérôme Boateng tapped home in the 34th minute to extend the lead, before Franck Ribéry (49’) got on the scoresheet and Müller added his second (51’). Holger Badstuber headed home in the 63rd minute, before Robert Lewandowski (75’) and Mario Götze (87’) rounded off the win.
