Queretaro midfielder Ronaldinho has been gifted a limited edition Audemars Piguet wristwatch worth £40,000 by NBA star LeBron James.
It is a show of love from the iconic American basketball player to a legendary Brazilian footballer.
The 34-year-old former Barcelona star took to Instagram to share a picture of the watch, which a limited edition of 600 designed by James, with his followers.
Ronaldinho accompanied it with the caption: “I loved this gift! Limited series watch from my bro LeBron James. Thanks, my friend!”
The 18-carat watch also features a scratch-resistant sapphire glass, while the LBJ signature is printed in blue. It is described by Audemars Piguet as ‘an iconic watch for a legendary athlete’.
Meanwhile, Ronaldinho’s Mexican club Queretaro, whom he signed a two-year deal with last year, are currently languishing in the relegation zone.
The former world footballer of the year, who won two La Liga titles and one Champions League trophy during a glittering spell with Barca between 2003 and 2008, played 71 minutes in Queretaro’s 5-0 win over Santos Laguna last week.
