Arsenal’s Theo Walcott has revealed that teammate Alexis Sanchez believes the Gunners can win the Champions League and how he has been geeing up his teammates, The Sun reports.
The Gunners have a very good chance of progressing into the quarter finals of the Champions League after they were paired alongside French side AS Monaco.
The Gunners were dealt a good draw in the Champions League knockout stages as they were paired alongside underachieving French outfit AS Monaco.
According to forward Walcott, the Gunners’ players are motivated and ready to go all out and win the trophy
“Alexis has been saying we have to stick together and he believes we can win the Champions League. And so do I,” Walcott told reporters of The Sun.
“We need everyone to believe. It is a good time to make a statement to the other teams in the Champions League — to say we are ready to win it. Let’s start with a good performance against Monaco.”
“Alexis has been saying this to the players during training. We have to have that confidence in the Champions League.”
“Some people may doubt us, we mustn’t listen to them. People are entitled to their opinion but I think this team could achieve big things.”
