Jose Mourinho’s three-year spell with Real Madrid was not a rollercoaster ride and his disastrous spell at the Santiago Bernabeu got ignited when he fell out with dressing room deities – Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo.
And now Spanish goalkeeper Casillas has rated current manager Carlo Ancelotti better than now Chelsea boss Mourinho.
Casillas was however quick to defuse any iota of grudge between the pair and promised to shake the Portuguese whenever they meet in future, but he is not sure Mourinho will return the gesture.
“Ancelotti has been a player and I think he is a better coach than Mourinho,” Casillas said.
“If I saw him I would shake his hand of course. Then it would be up to him to shake mine or not.”
Former Chelsea and AC Milan manager Ancelotti has masterminded a record 22-winning streak with the European champions, a run that was recently ended following a 2-1 defeat at Valencia last week.
Mourinho led Los Blancos to a 15-match winning streak while at the helm, but Ancelotti has now surpassed that feat with seven straight wins. I guess we can pardon Casillas for rating the Italian better than the stentorian Portuguese.
