Belgian teenage winger Adnan Januzaj has found playing time limited under Louis van Gaal this season.
As a result Real Sociedad coach and former Manchester United manager David Moyes has pounced on that opportunity to take the 19-year-old on loan come January.
Moyes has admitted he wants to
bring in several loan reinforcements at Sociedad next month which further increases the chances of Januzaj moving to Spain.
The Scot brought Januzaj through at Old Trafford but he has struggled to flourish in Van Gaal’s preferred 3-5-2 formation.
The Dutch tactician wants Januzaj, who is a natural left-winger to be a roaming No.10 but after impressive displays under Moyes last season in a rather disastrous campaign, he has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford with Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera ahead of him in the pecking order.
A January exit meanwhile, could help resuscitate his fledging career.
“The president has been very good with me and he is going to let me see what I can do,” Moyes said when asked about likely first signings coach of the La liga side.
“My intention is maybe going into the loan market to bring in a couple of players on loan. If I can boost the squad and give everybody a lift then I will try to do that.
“January is never the best time but if there are boys who could come here and help the team and we can have a look at them for six months then we’ll do that,’ he said after Sunday’s draw
with Athletic Bilbao.”
Real Sociedad play a second-leg Spanish cup round of 16 match on Wednesday at home to third tier side Oviedo after a goalless draw in the first-leg, followed by a trip to Levante this weekend in the Spanish Liga.
