Ahead of Sunday’s Barclays Premier League titanic tussle between title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield, Reds coach Brendan Rodgers, captain Steven Gerrard and striker Luis Suarez all completed a treble of awards on Friday.
Six wins out of six last month have catapulted the Reds into an enviable position at the league summit, two points ahead of second placed Chelsea.
Rodgers was voted EPL manager of the month for March by virtue of that 100 per cent record that leaves his side aloft the league table, going into the final five games of a dramatic 2013/14 season, while 33-year-old veteran England midfielder Gerrard and Suarez were jointly named player of the month.
Uruguayan striker Suarez, netted six goals in March, including a scintillating hat-trick away at Cardiff during the 6-3 win, and is far and away the division’s top scorer with 29 goals.
Meanwhile, Sunday’s match with Manuel Pellegrini’s side could prove to be the title decider for Rodger’s rejuvenated squad.
