French international Samir Nasri. has apologised to Manchester City’s fans after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Wigan Athletic at the Etihad Stadium.
Goals from Jordi Gomez and James Perch was enough to send Wigan into the semi-finals where they’ll meet Arsenal at Wembley, with Hull City facing Sheffield United in the second semi-final.
Manchester City will proceed in the week as they will face Barcelona in the Champions League. City will have to give it all in the tie on Wednesday as they are trailing 2-0 from the first leg.
Nasri took to twitter to express his disappointment and also apologized to the fans.
“Disappointing performance from us, sorry to the fans let’s focus on Wednesday and the league,” he tweeted.
City’s Captain Vincent Kompany also gave his thoughts on the game, suggesting the team would learn from their shock defeat.
“If any lessons have to be learned, it’s that anything is possible in football and that’s not unimportant considering the task that’s ahead,” he Tweeted.
