Wales Under-21 defender Paul Dummett has committed his future to Newcastle United by agreeing a new six-year contract to keep him at the St James’ Park until 2019.
The talented fullback made his debut for the Magpies at Brighton in the FA Cup last January and his full Premier League debut came in last Sunday’s Wear-Tyne derby against Sunderland.
Last season, Dummett won a Scottish League Cup winners’ medal whilst on loan at St Mirren, during which time he played 36 games for the Buddies.
Tyneside-born Dummett said: “Like so many local lads it has been my boyhood dream to play for this club and now I am looking forward to repaying their faith in me,”.
“This is a great moment for my family and so many others who have supported me over the years and I
would like to thank them all.”
